Pope Leo XIV Plushie
Robert Francis Prevost was born on September 14, 1955, in Chicago, Illinois. He entered the Order of Saint Augustine and was ordained a priest in 1982. During his studies, he taught physics and mathematics at a Catholic high school in Chicago. After years of missionary service in Peru, he was appointed Bishop of Chiclayo in 2015 and later served as Prefect of the Dicastery for Bishops in Rome. On May 8, 2025, he was elected the 267th pope, becoming the first American and the first Augustinian to lead the Church. He chose the name Leo XIV in honor of Pope Leo XIII, known for his social teachings.
